 Camp Kool Kidz North Camp May 27-30 2008 North camp was a huge success this year! With a fun filled week of games, activities, art and crafts, swimming and sports, the kids had a blast! Carol Miesh, one of our parents, wrote that “Camp Kool Kidz was a great place for our daughter to be able to fully participate in a variety of camp activities and for us to know as parents she had top-notch care while having a great time.” Diane Saliceti further indicated that “my four and five year old boys had such a wonderful time at Kool Kidz camp. We were so fortunate to find an inclusive camp that could provide such a personal, rewarding and exciting experience for all children.” Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers for making camp so successful! Thank you also to our fabulous group and activity leaders, therapists and to our very special nurse, Karen! As one of our volunteers wrote after camp, “. . . Thank you for including me in one of the greatest experiences I have ever had.” And truly, to sum it up, Mahlet Mecchegia, whose children attended camp and who also volunteered along with her nephews, said that “ my kids had a blast at the camp last week. They actually asked if they were coming this week. It was a heart-felt camp seeing all the kids just being kids. Both my teenage nephews had fun volunteering. What an experience for these young men and women volunteers - they will go on with life accepting everybody the way they are. Our family will be a part of camp for years to come. Thank you again for the great camp experience.” THANK YOU TO OUR COMMUNITY SUPPORTERS Camp Kool Kidz would not be possible without the help and support of our community donors. Thank you to the Shirley Blumenthal Center for allowing us the use of the JCC facility for our summer camp. We would also like to thank The Keebler Company, Ingles, Publix, Kroger, Willy’s and Pizza Hut for donating food for our volunteer lunches and children’s snacks. Thank you to Dick’s Sporting Goods Store, Target, Home Depot, CVS for giving us gift cards, discounts and in-kind donations for our various camp supplies.
